I worked four hours today, cutting fabric and batting for customers. The first part of the day was orientation, getting my uniform, etc., and then learning how to do my new job. At first, I was pretty overwhelmed and asked a lot of questions, but I started getting into the swing of things pretty quickly.
I'm looking forward to working again on Friday.
I love Jo-Ann fabrics. Around here we have Hancock and Jo-Ann but I refuse to go back to Hancock. They have poor selection and always seem to be understaffed.
ReplyDeleteAnd the fact that Jo-Ann hired you has elevated my opinion of them even higher.
Could be dangerous to work in a fabric store. I love buying fabric!
I just tell myself that I work in a museum - I get to look at the pretty things all day, but I don't get to take them home with me. :0)
DeleteWay to go Sis. Proud of you. Looking Good
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pat!
Deleteway to go Rebecca!! the job and looking at it like its a museum!
ReplyDeleteIt's the only way I cannot covet all the neat stuff!
DeleteYou look great! Have fun at your new job!

Thanks, Jeannie! It was fun.
DeleteHi Ms.Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteI have a interview with joAnns next week! Im super excited & nervous..i was wondering if you still worked here, do you have any advice for me, & what type of uniform do you have to wear?
I still work at Jo-Ann as a teacher of knitting, crocheting and quilting. The uniform is black, navy or tan slacks, skirt or walking shorts and a green or white shirt that has a collar. Plus, you get an an apron and name tag. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteRebecca you are the ONLY person on the entire INTERNET who actually posted the dress code! thanks!
ReplyDeleteWell, you're welcome, whoever you are! :)
DeleteIm shopping for my first day and forgot the dress code so I'm super happy I saw this haha thank you!
ReplyDeleteHey Rebecca! I just got selected for Joanns hiring process. How long did it take for them to contact you? I haven't received a call for an interview
ReplyDeleteSorry for the delay in answering. I just now saw this! When I was hired there, I was already working as an independent contractor teacher. The manager asked if I wanted a job and I said yes, so I never went through the typical hiring process. Have they ever contacted you? Rebecca
